Decorations
When decorating a table, start from the bottom up and back forward. Look below for ideas on how to create an easy shrimp boil tablescape.
TABLE: Starting at the bottom is a blue tablecloth with netting draped over.
BACKDROP: Old Shudders, netting (from Hobby Lobby), hung on the shutters- Hook (from Hobby Lobby) , lantern (Ikea), bucket with flowers.
DECOR: Once the table and backdrop are set up, now it’s time to add all the fun touches. Always start with your tallest items. I like planking my table with tall items and then filling from there. Hobby Lobby carries a great assortment of beach themed items. Scroll down to learn how easy it is to make homemade Japanese glass floats and party favors.
WOODEN LETTERS: Letters from Hobby Lobby, painted barn red and dry brushed with white. Hot glued to dowels to the backs of the letters. Buckets are filled with sand.
DINNER TABLES: Get a big roll of brown paper ( I like using shipping paper), and roll it down the center of the table. This makes clean up super easy. Strategically place rolls of paper towels

This is over the top wonderful! I do a lot of entertaining at the beach and your detailed tablescape has given me a ton of ideas! I am hosting a family reunion next summer so I have pinned several of your photos for reference, thanks so much! Fabulous!

LOVE this idea! Being a Florida gal, I love all things beach. During our “exile” in Philly, I hosted an annual beach party…in January! We had beach chairs, Beach Boys and Jan and Dean music, sand, “beachy” foods, and more. It was the hit party of the season…

Hi Jeri,
I’m so glad you liked it. Thanks! 🙂
This party looks adorable! I really like the technique you used on your SAND letters and the A-frame to hold the caramel corn cones. Nice job!
Thanks Chloe, I love designing things for parties. 🙂
So cute! Where did you get the boat from?
Hi Kristina, I bought the boat at Hobby Lobby.
Thank you for such a wonderful party idea! We just moved into our new home and hosted a party for all of our friends. I served everything on your menu, except for the popcorn which I switched out for chocolate chip cookies. As we live in Richmond, Ontario in Canada, we had a bit of an adventure finding the proper pot with basket, but eventually found one at our local Canadian Tire. I quadrupled the recipes as we had over 20 people attending and everything turned out beautifully! Even the dogs were thrilled as they all got a taste of shrimp and sausage. Thank you again for the terrific recipes and decorating ideas! I look forward to recreating more of your efforts!
Hi Kim, THAT’S AWESOME! Thanks so much for sharing your story. 🙂
Where did you find the smaller pails?
I collect them from Target (in the dollar section) and The Dollar Tree Yvette. If you can’t find them there then you can order them fro Oriental Trading.
Hi Kim,
This is beautiful!! What type (galvanized) pail did you use for the cooked food & where did you purchase?
Hi….This is Sheryl. I get my pails from different places. I think the ones I used in this shoot were from Dollar Tree.
Sounds delish! Going to try this today 7/4/2028
WooHoo Ray! Yummy dinner.
