Thanks Carole, They have a sweet citrus flavor! 🙂
Super excited about making these for Cinco de Mayo!
I can’t wait to surprise the adults with these for Cinco!
Sheryl, these are so fun – I absolutely love them! I want one! 🙂
Can I assume the Tequila is 1/4 CUP plus 1tsp?
Yes Lisa. Just remember that it is divided into two separate times.
Is there anyway to make these non alcoholic?
Sure, you can just leave it out. 🙂
Help why do my lollipops always turn brown in colour??
Hi Diane, I’m going to guess and this is totally a guess…I think you might be boiling your sugar too long. When sugar is boiled it will eventually turn to caramel.
by boiling the tequila with the other ingredients, will there no longer be any alcohol in the lollipops?
Yes Heather….the alcohol will evaporate.
I made a batch with the orange, which were marvelous. But making some for Cinco de Mayo, I used strictly lime peel and lime extract. They are so festive!
It sounds like a fun party Karin!
Will adding extra tequila at the end make a difference in the texture of the finished product?
Hi Lily, There is a splash (1 teaspoon) added at the end of the cooking process. I don’t think another teaspoon would hurt.
Do you know how long these will last?
Hi Serne, As long as they’re kept in a dry cool place they should be fine for a couple weeks.
Can Monk fruit be used instead of sugar?
Hi Darlene, I don’t know anything about monk fruit. You’ll need to research the high cooking temp of the natural sugar.
Hi! Does the alcohol cook out of them or are they boozey? Could they eventually get someone drunk?
Hi Martha, Yes the alcohol will burn off and no…no one can get drunk off of these Margarita Lollipops.
