READY TO MAKE THE CUTEST HALLOWEEN TREAT EVER?
For the Cookie Cone:
I am so in love with these mini ice cream cones. They are great for little hands and make the perfect size dessert.
These are so easy to make. THERE IS NO BAKING!!!
Place half of a package of Candy Corn Oreo Cookies (Golden Oreo cookies will work too) in a food processor. Pulse until the cookies become crumbs; dump into a large bowl; add the remaining cookies to the food processor and pulse until the cookies become crumbs.
Dump into the large bowl. Go through the crumbs and pick out any large pieces. Put back into the food processor and pulse until ground up. Pour all the cookie crumbs back into the food processor along with the cream cheese. Pulse until a ball forms.
Roll into balls. TIP: I used one of the mini cones as a guide to how big the balls should be. I would place each one on the cone and if it passed I placed it on a cookie sheet fitted with parchment paper.
Once all the balls have been rolled. Melt green candy (I used the new Fall flavor Caramel Apple). The way you do this is by placing some of the candy in a small microwave safe bowl. Microwave 30 seconds and stir. Continue this process until the candy it melted and creamy (about 3 times). TIP: If the candy is too thick you can add vegetable oil to the bowl but only add 1 teaspoon at a time until the candy reaches the desired consistency. Because of the coolness of the oil you may need to heat up the candy again.
Dip the top of the cone in the melted chocolate, into the body of the cone add black and orange Sixlets from SweetWorks.
Dip the bottom of the cookie ball into the melted candy and fit on top of the dipped cone. HINT: You’ll want to act fast here while the candy on the cone is still soft. After all the cones have been, dipped, filled and the cookie balls have been attached. Place in the refrigerator until the candy hardens (about 10 minutes).
Once the candy is hard dip the cookie ball into the green melted candy all the way and over the top of the ice cream cone. Place in the refrigerator to harden (about 10 minutes). Now you can dress up your Cookie Cone with the witches hat. 🙂
For the Hat:
First trace around a 2-inch cookie cutter onto a piece of parchment paper with a pencil.
Place the parchment paper pencil side down on a cookie sheet (you may need to tape it down).
Melt black candy melts in the microwave in 30 second increments, stirring after each one (about a total of 3 times).
Pour melted candy into a squeeze bottle with a pointed tip. First trace around the inside of the circle, using the bottle tip to move the candy to the edge of the circle, then fill in the center still using the bottle tip to move around the candy.
Place in the refrigerator to harden (about 10 minutes).
While the hat rims are hardening start on the hat points. For this step you will need Bugles and melted black candy.
Fill a container with rice or use a piece of Styrofoam. Place skewers in rice or foam.
Dip the tip and as far down the sides of the Bugles as you can without getting your fingers in the candy. Place the Bugles on the skewer and in the refrigerator to harden (about 10 minutes).
Place a small amount of the melted black candy on top of the cookie cone, turn the rim over so the slick side is up.
Add the hat rim and place in the refrigerator to harden (about 10 minutes).
Dip the bottom of the bugle in melted black candy and add to the hat rim. Hold in place until the candy hardens. The cold from the hat rim being in the refrigerator will help make this process easy.
