Adding a small amount (about 1 teaspoon) of espresso to chocolate doesn’t flavor the batter to coffee but enhances the flavor of the chocolate?
TIPS FOR A LIGHT AND FLUFFY FROSTING
- Good ingredients “real” butter not margarine
- Room temperature ingredients
- Be patient…you’ll need to whip the frosting at least 3 to 5 minutes (sometimes I do this step twice). This will allow air to incorporate into the butter and create the lightness you want.
- That’s it! It’s really not as hard as you might think
Sometimes the thought of making both cupcakes and frosting from scratch can get overwhelming. Here’s something I like to do when I’m in a pinch for time (this is for mocha cupcakes). I pick up the darkest chocolate cake mix I can find (Usually Ghirardelli) and add 1 tablespoon of espresso powder to the batter. Shhh…..if you don’t tell anyone they’re not made from scratch they’ll never know. Click here for more ideas of how to transform a cake mix—->>>>22 WAYS TO MAKE A CAKE MIX TASTE LIKE HOMEMADE.
