Wine Truffles
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup ChocolatRough Wine
- 5 - 4 ounce semisweet chocolate bars, chopped {20 ounces}
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 12 ounces white chocolate or candy melts, melted
- 6 tablespoons shortening
- dark chocolate raspberry candy melts or any flavor you wish
Instructions
In a small saucepan, heat cream and wine until tiny bubbles form. In a large bowl, place chopped chocolate bars. Microwave on high 1 1/2 minutes. Pour onto cream mixture over chocolate and stir until melted. Stir in butter. Cover and chill about 4 hours or until firm enough to roll. Roll into about 25 to 30 balls. Chill about 1 hour or until firm. Place white chocolate or white candy melts with the shortening into a microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high in 30 second intervals stirring between each until melted and smooth. {about 1-1/2 minutes} Place truffles on a fork, and spoon melted chocolate over each truffle. Shake off excess, and place on a wire rack. Place the raspberry chocolate melts into a microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high in 30 second intervals, stirring between each until melted and smooth. Place in a piping bag fitted with a small tip or in a zip top bag with a small corner cut off and pipe on top of the truffles with a back and forth motion or swirls.
We had these when your husband brought them into work, they were fantastic! I snagged a couple and brought them home to my kids who also heaped excessive praise, “these rock!” Thanks for sharing your creations.

Yes, the shortening goes with the melted white chocolate. I added that in the directions. Thanks for catching it. 🙂
