Easy Caramel Apple Donut Pops
Treat your kids to caramel apples for breakfast! Yes, I said caramel apples! Well, how about these Easy Caramel Apple Donut Pops. Once your kids try this yummy twist on the traditional caramel apple they’ll keep asking for them over and over. And you won’t mind making them since it only takes a few minutes.
I used bakery cake glazed donut holes from Walmart. If you can’t find them you can also use Entenmann’s donut holes.
The new seasonal candy melt flavor from Wilton is Caramel Apple (found at Michael’s).
Dip one end of a donut hole in melted caramel apple candy melts, let harden, drizzle on melted butterscotch chips and insert a popsicle stick. So cute and VERY tasty!
ALTERNATIVE to caramel apple candy melts: Use melted butterscotch chips and drizzle with melted white or dark chocolate chips.
EASY CARAMEL APPLE DONUT POPS
Supplies
cake glazed donut holes
caramel apple candy melts
butterscotch chips
popsicle sticks
Directions
Melt some caramel apple flavored candy melts in a microwave safe bowl.
Dip the bottom half of the donut holes into the melted candy.
Place on a wire rack or a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Place in the refrigerator to harden (about 10 minutes).
NOTE: If you choose the place the candy coated donut holes on a wire rack the bottom might stick. I liked it because it helped the donut hole stand up. This won’t happen if you use parchment paper.
Melt butterscotch chips in a small microwave safe bowl. Hold the donut hole, dip a fork in the melted butterscotch and drizzle over caramel apple candy.
NOTE: If you use butterscotch chips instead of the caramel apple flavored candy melts you can use melted white chocolate and/or dark chocolate to drizzle.
Once you have drizzled on melted candy/chips, place back in the refrigerator to harden (about 10 minutes).
Once candy is hardened insert popsicle sticks.
LOVE these, Sheryl! They are so simple but so stinkin’ cute!!!!
