Materials
- fresh oranges
- star shaped cookie cutter
- tea lights ( I used the battery operated)
Tools
- x-acto knife
- shark knife
- spoon
- pen
Instructions
- Slice off the top of each orange.
- Use a sharp kitchen knife to cut around the inside perimeter of the orange.
- Using a spoon, gently scoop out the pulp.
- Remove all the citrus flesh, with only the white pith remaining inside the orange shell. Rinse out oranges and dry the outside with a paper towel.
- Orange should be free of any citrus.
- With a ballpoint pen, trace or draw a small star on the orange skin.
- Use a sharp knife (like an x-acto knife) to carefully cut out the pattern. Wipe off any pen marks left with a damp paper towel. I dipped a Q-tip in nail polish remover....it took the ink right off.
- Place tea light inside.
