Kid’s Thanksgiving Table Pumpkin Spice Pretzels Supplies:
large pretzel rods
pumpkin spice candy melts
white chocolate candy melts
dark chocolate candy melts
vegetable oil
assorted fall sprinkles
Kid’s Thanksgiving Table Pumpkin Spice Pretzels Directions:
Half of the pretzels are dipped in pumpkin spice candy melts and covered with sprinkles and the other half are dipped in white chocolate candy melts, drizzled with pumpkin spice and dark chocolate candy melts with sprinkles added.
Work on one kind at a time.
For the pumpkin spice coated pretzels:
Add the pumpkin spice candy melts to a microwave safe medium bowl. Melt on high 30 seconds at a time stirring between each time until creamy. I found that the melted candy it too thick to pour over the pretzels. So, to thin the candy out I added a little vegetable oil only 1 teaspoon at a time and stir until completely incorporated with the melted candy. Spoon melted candy over the pretzel rod but not all the way down leave enough of the pretzel without candy for a handle. The easiest way to apply the melted candy is to hold the pretzel on one side with the tip resting in the bowl. Once the pretzel is coated lightly tap on the side of the bowl to release any excess candy. Place on a wax paper lined cookie sheet. Once you have 3 or 4 coated, apply the sprinkles. Place on a clean cookie sheet also lined with wax paper. Once all the pumpkin spice pretzels are done place in the refrigerator to harden and get started on the drizzled pretzels.
For the drizzled pretzels:
Coat with the white chocolate melted candy and place on the wax paper lined cookie sheet. Once all the pretzels are coated with the white chocolate place in the refrigerator to harden. In microwave safe medium size bowls melt the spice pumpkin and dark chocolate candy melts. Using the same method as with the first batch of pretzels. Place melted pumpkin spice in a small baggie snip the corner and drizzle on the pretzels in a back and forth motion. Repeat these steps for the dark chocolate. Add sprinkles. Place back on the wax paper lined cookie sheet and into the refrigerator to harden.
