Make sure to turn the lid so that the rubber edge is facing out and NOT touching the cake batter. Set on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. I promise….the baking process DOES NOT in anyway affect the rubber ring of the insert.
Spray with non stick cooking spray.
Fill half way, use an offset spatula to even out batter.
Add three cherries.
Bake!

Your recipe calls for 2 (20 ounce) cans cherry pie filling but the instructions (# 6) only say to add 3 cherries to each little cake. Is this a misprint? Do you need the pie filling?
Hi Carole, Yes you need the pie filling. When I say add three cherries I mean three cherries from the pie filling.
Will the recipe work in the smaller mason jar lids… Maybe with just two cherries? I’ve made your canning lid small pies….delicious. Thank you.
Sure Lynn, you’ll just need to adjust the amount you add to each lid. Good Luck! 🙂
