Orange Pop Frosting Recipe
Orange Pop Frosting Recipe | A combinations of orange butter frosting and vanilla butter frosting creating a delicious frosting combo. Bring back your childhood memories of the ice cream truck and eating a 50/50 bar with this delicious frosting!
Perfect on a cupcake, sheet cake or layered cake! When time is hard to come by and you have to make cupcakes or a cake from a cake mix at least you can make homemade frosting. In less than 15 minutes you can be licking the frosting off the beaters!
Orange Pop Frosting Recipe
Ingredients
For the Vanilla Frosting
- 1 (8 ounce) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 5 1/2 to 6 cups confectioners' sugar
For the Orange Frosting
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons orange gelation
- 1 teaspoon finely shredded orange peel.
- few drops of orange food coloring
Instructions
For the Vanilla Frosting:
In a large mixing bowl beat butter, cream cheese and vanilla until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in confectioners' sugar until frosting reaches spreading consistency. Place one-fourth of the frosting in a separate bowl; beat in vanilla.
For the Orange Frosting:
To the remaining bowl of Cream Cheese Frosting add the orange gelatin and finely shredded orange peel. If desired, add a few drops orange food coloring. Beat to combine.
Put it All Together:
Add a swirl of the orange frosting, on the top center add a small amount of the vanilla frosting. If desired place a popsicle stick in the center.
