How to Make Blueberry Biscuit Dessert
INGREDEINTS (full printable recipe below)
- sweet blueberry biscuits ( I found them at Walmart)
- heavy whipping cream
- frozen blueberries
- butter
- light brown sugar
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 350°
- Spray a 9×13 inch baking dish with non stick cooking spray.
- Place biscuit in the prepared dish, split last biscuit to fit. (save icing for later)
- Pour heavy cream evenly over biscuits, sprinkle blueberries over the top.
- In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter and brown sugar, pour over biscuits.
- Cover with foil, bake 30 to 35 minutes.
- Take out of the oven, uncover, and drizzle reserved icing over the top. ENJOY!
What Does Pouring Cream Over Biscuits Before Baking Do?
Due to heavy cream’s high fat content, adding heavy cream to biscuits just before baking adds moisture and acts as a tenderizer to baked treats. This creates a gooey and moist dessert.
Frozen Blueberries VS Fresh Blueberries
FROZEN BLUEBERRIES: Using frozen blueberries will offer blueberry flavor and since the berries have been frozen, they will also release their juices and give the dish blueberry syrup.
FRESH BLUEBERRIES: Using fresh berries will give you some blueberry flavor but little to no syrup.
